The purpose of the Evening Star Quilt Guild is to promote the love of quilts, to encourage and preserve the art of quilts and quilting and to contribute friendship, knowledge, and encouragement to others.

The guild is based out of Birmingham, Alabama and was founded in 1998. Our Guild meeting is the first Thursday of every month at the North Shelby Library; additionally, we have Sit 'n Sew the second Saturday of the month at the First Baptist Church of Helena.

Becky Everett is an award-winning quilter in local, regional and national quilt venues. She quilts on a 12 foot Gammill Statler quilting machine, staying current by attending classes, seminars and retreats conducted by certified Statler instructors. While she finds the Statler computer relevant and most useful, she also enjoys and somewhat prefers to freehand the majority of her projects. She began quilting in 2005 and purchased her longarm in 2007. She draws inspiration from nature, art, books, magazines and blogs. She is also an avid knitter and hand embroiderer and enjoys watercolor and photography.

Becky is married, has three grown children, one grandchild and three fur babies. She credits her success to her husband, children and best friend who have been a constant source of help and encouragement. She lives in Pell City, Alabama.

Becky's talk will consist of her quilting history: how she got started, her favorite quilting tools, techniques and patterns, and where she gets her inspiration. Don't miss it!
